Meet Our Assembly of Oh So Fine Talent: Maxine Bulloch

We’ve just wrapped up our Assembly event - the unconventional convention designed for and facilitated almost entirely by small businesses - and we want to highlight each and every one of our amazing vendors.

Partly because we’re sure the day was a bit of a whirlwind and with lots of new names and faces around, people probably need a bit of a refresh. But also for those who couldn’t come and are still looking for a network of fine individuals that can help them with their small business needs.

So, without further ado, we bring you a brief interview with Maxine Bulloch, a photographer who really understands how make you look and feel good, and who any small business would be lucky to work with!

SO, WHO ARE YOU?

A photographer who works with impact-driven individuals and businesses to translate their values into visuals.

AND WHAT IS IT YOU DO AGAIN?

I work with individuals and businesses to create photography that tells the story of their brand. My three main areas of focus are brand storytelling, event photography, and portraits.

HOW EXACTLY DO YOU HELP PEOPLE GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER?

I help clients to distinguish their key values and work with them to create photography around those different pieces. Having personalized visual content is the easiest way to give a client or potential client a taste of what it's like to work with you and create relatability and connection.

WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH TO BUSINESS?

Working with clients with aligned values first and foremost. Looking at how I can be of service. Fun and transparency! Learning from each experience and getting feedback from anyone willing to give it.

HOW WOULD YOUR CLIENTS DESCRIBE YOU?

Values-driven, chameleon-like at events, and fun

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START DOING WHAT YOU DO?

Before I went out full-time as a photographer, I was working in operations at a business incubator that had a focus on training impact-driven companies to launch and grow. I’m so grateful for my time there as it was completely invaluable learning about startup life, do’s and don’ts and all the moving pieces that you will deal with when you run and grow a business.

WHAT MADE YOU GO OUT ON YOUR OWN?

I’d been doing photography on the side of my day job for 10 years. A change in personal circumstances had me look at what it might be like to do photography full time and it seemed like the perfect time to dive in! I’m passionate about purposeful businesses and people, and I love working with clients to create photography that will make a beautiful difference for their brand.
